Overview
You’ll be met by a Visitors Egypt tour guide holding a Visitors Egypt sign at the airport or your hotel. At Giza you’ll see the iconic pyramids and the Great Sphinx, and visit the Valley Temple beside the monuments. As you move on to Sakkara you’ll explore the Step Pyramid of Zoser, home of Egypt’s oldest pyramid. The trip also includes a visit to ancient Memphis, where you can view the great statue of Ramses II and the alabaster sphinx of the city. Another option focuses on Cairo’s central heritage. You’ll start at the Egyptian Museum, which holds more than 250,000 pieces, then continue to the Citadel of Salah El Din. The visit finishes at the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, set within the citadel complex. A full-day option to Alexandria takes you to the modern library of Alexandria, described here as the biggest library in the world, then to the Roman Amphitheatre with displays of sunken monuments from the city. You’ll also see the Abbo Elabbas Mosque, noted as the largest mosque in Alexandria, and spend time in the gardens of Montaza as part of the city visit.
