4-Day White Desert Camping

Overview

This excursion from Cairo takes you into the Bahariya Oasis region in modern cars driven by drivers from the Bedouin oases. After you arrive at the oasis, you will visit a Bedouin village and the hot water springs used to treat skin diseases. You will then go to the White Desert to see the crystals which are meteorite from space that collided with the Earth thousands of years ago. In the White Desert, you will explore what was once the seabed, where the water dried up 23 million years ago. You will see the striking white rock formations shaped like a chicken, a mushroom, a rabbit, a horse, an elephant and many other natural forms. Along the way you will also visit the Dinosaur Mountains, a lake and the English Mountain, and you will see Pharaonic tombs inside the city of Bahariya Oasis.
