Overview
This excursion begins in Bahariya Oasis in the Western Desert and takes you out into the surrounding sands to see the distinctive Black and White Deserts. Along the way you’ll encounter the murals in Bagwat and travel through contrasting desert landscapes that define this part of Egypt. You will then drive to Dakhla Oasis and spend the night in an oasis-style hut, staying in red huts with shared bathrooms and basic facilities. After breakfast, you’ll visit the Deir el Hajar Roman Temple set in its peaceful surroundings and the Mezwaqa Roman Cemetery. The trip continues to the Islamic village of Al-Qasr, about 35 km from Mut, where you can see the ruins of the Ayyubid Mosque. Finally you will move on to Kharga and spend the night in Kharga Oasis.
