A wonderful day tour from Cairo to El Minya by car
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.

Overview
Tal El Amarna is an ancient city on the eastern bank of the Nile in the governorate of Minya. At this site you will explore the main surviving elements of the settlement, including the two palaces of the two kingdoms — the north palace and the south palace — as well as the temples of Tuna and the houses of the royalty. As you move through the site, you will see the remains of royal and religious architecture and get a sense of how the city was organised. Along the way you will examine both palace complexes and the nearby temples of Tuna, and you will pass the residential areas where the royal houses once stood. The visit will give you a straightforward look at the principal buildings that defined Tal El Amarna and their relationship to the Nile-side location in Minya.
