Overview

This day tour to El Fayoum takes you from Cairo into a very different landscape. You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to El Fayoum, where you will change into a 4x4 vehicle for the ride to Wadi Rayan. Along the way you will see a village set on a hill facing a large salt-water lake, with clear views of the desert on the opposite shore. You will visit Qarun Lake, which is considered one of the oldest natural lakes in the world, the third-largest lake in Egypt and the remainder of Lake Old Maurice. You will also explore Wadi El Rayan and its waterfalls — a natural phenomenon that is considered to be the largest waterfalls in Egypt. After that you will head into the Western Desert to enjoy the sand dunes, try sand boarding and spend time at the Magic Lake, a striking desert lake in this region. The experience combines lakeside scenery, desert views and light outdoor activities in one of Egypt’s most distinctive landscapes.
