Overview
You will begin at the recently opened Civilization Museum, where thousands of artefacts span different eras of ancient Egyptian history. As you move through the galleries, you will see objects from many periods and enter the mummy hall, a panoramic space where royal mummies are kept and displayed. Later, you will explore Coptic Cairo, the historic religious quarter that contains some of the city’s oldest churches, monasteries and a synagogue dating from the 2nd century AD. Along the way you will then visit Islamic Cairo, where many of the oldest mosques and historic buildings stand. You will walk along Almoaz Street and continue to Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, the oldest bazaar in Cairo, which dates to the 13th century.
