Day Trip to Alexandria from Giza & Cairo by Pharaohs Tours
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.

Overview
You will be picked up from your hotel in Cairo by a guide and driver in a private car and driven to Alexandria for a day of ancient sights and seaside views. In Alexandria you will explore the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, the largest-known Roman burial site in Egypt. You will also visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, built on a magnificent site beside the ancient harbour in the historic centre; the modern 11-storey library can hold up to four million volumes. As you move through the city, you will see the Roman amphitheatre, founded by Alexander the Great in 332 B.C. on the site of an old fishing village. Along the way you will visit Fort Qaitbey and pass by Pompey's Pillar, where you may take photos from outside, and Stanley Bridge. The company also offers a surprise visit to Abu el Abbas mosque. Lunch overlooking the Mediterranean is available as an optional extra at a local restaurant. After the tour you will be driven back to your hotel in Cairo.
