Overview
This five-day programme, based in Cairo, is organised to include the most important sites in Cairo and the Mediterranean city of Alexandria. Across the trip you will visit iconic ancient and historic landmarks and spend time exploring both the pharaonic and later periods of Egypt’s history. You will see the three Pyramids of Giza and visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. A visit to Alexandria will take you to its coastal highlights, including the Pillar of Bombay, the Roman Theater, the Alexandria Library and the Qaitbai Citadel. You will also spend time in Islamic and Coptic Cairo, where the programme includes the Hanging Church and the Coptic Museum, a visit to the Citadel of Saladin, and a walk through the main bazaar (khan el khalili Suaq). Along the way you will have opportunities to learn about the history and significance of each site as you move between these major attractions.
