Exclusive Alexandria Tour From Cairo
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.

Overview
A Visitors Egypt Tour representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo for a day trip to Alexandria. Along the way you will start at Pompey’s Pillar, a monument erected in honour of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. The column originally stood within the temple of Serapis and was once part of a larger complex that rivalled the Soma and the Caesarean. You will then drive to the Catacombs, the largest Roman cemetery in Alexandria, carved into the rock across three distinct levels. After exploring the underground burial chambers, you will have lunch at a local restaurant in Alexandria. The afternoon will include a visit to the Qaitbay Citadel, built on the site of the ancient pharaohs’ lighthouse of Alexandria, followed by a stop at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Finally, you will be driven back to your hotel in Cairo.
