On this full-day tour from Cairo you'll explore some of Egypt’s most famous archaeological sites with an Egyptologist guide who will help bring the ancient world to life. At the Giza plateau you'll see the pyramids of Giza and learn about the three massive tombs that dominate the skyline. As you move around the site, the Sphinx and the nearby Valley Temple below the plateau will offer further insight into funerary practices and royal symbolism. The tour continues to Saqqara, the vast necropolis that contains the stone-stepped pyramid of Zoser, where you can study one of the earliest surviving monumental stone structures. You will also visit Memphis, Egypt’s oldest capital, to view its collection of antiquities and gain context for how these sites relate to the development of ancient Egyptian civilisation. Numbers are limited for a small-group experience, and at the end of the day you will return to Cairo.
