Overview

On this private full-day tour of Cairo, you will visit two of the city’s most important cultural sites. First you will travel to Giza, a place whose history reaches back to the 26th century BC and beyond. Located across the Nile from central Cairo, the Giza plateau is home to the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx and other ancient monuments. As you move through the site, you will see the iconic monuments that define the area and get a sense of how the ancient and modern parts of the city sit side by side, with a lively dining and entertainment scene nearby. You will also visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), the Arab world’s first museum of civilisation. The NMEC will present a comprehensive view of Egyptian civilisation from prehistory to the present day. The museum’s main goal is to “share knowledge”, to connect with the surrounding Egyptian society, and to offer international visitors richer and deeper insight into the meaning of Egyptian culture through the ages. After your time at the museum, the tour will include a visit to Coptic Cairo.
