Overview

Over two days in Cairo and Giza, you will explore Lower Egypt with the support of a professional Egyptologist tour guide who will be glad to assist you and show you the real Egypt. You will spend time in the Giza Pyramids area and enjoy a knowledgeable visit to the GEM in Giza and the NEMC, where you will learn about Ancient Egyptian civilisation and its highlights. On the second day, you will continue to the main Museum of Cairo, known as the Old Cairo Museum, to see a wide range of artefacts and the treasure associated with the golden boy King Tut Ankh Amon. You will also visit the Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, the Alabaster Mosque in the Citadel of Saladin. In Old Coptic Cairo you will explore the area’s Christian heritage, including the cave shelter used by the Holy Family (the Virgin Mary and Jesus), the Hanging Church and the oldest synagogue of Ben Ezra. Along the way your guide will provide historical context and insights to help you understand the sites you see.
