Overview
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel or Nile cruise in Luxor and take you to the Luxor Temple on the east side. As you move through the site, you'll see how Luxor Temple links to the Karnak Temples along the Sphinx avenue, giving a sense of the ancient ceremonial route between the two complexes. At the Karnak Temples — the biggest temple complex in the world at 62 acres — you'll visit monuments dedicated to the main god of Thebes, Amon Ra. You will see the great Hypostyle Hall with its 143 massive columns, the sacred lake of Amon Ra, and the huge obelisk that Queen Hatshepsut erected here, weighing 323 tons.
