Overview

You will set out from Luxor on a cruise along the upper Nile and explore a stretch of river often called the biggest outdoor museum in the world. Along the way you’ll encounter ancient temples, burial sites and relics that tell the story of Egypt’s pharaonic past. On the east bank you’ll visit the temples of Karnak and Luxor. As you move upriver, the cruise will call at Esna and Edfu, where you’ll see the Temple of Horus. Further on in Aswan you’ll view the Aswan Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk, and visit the Temple of Philae. You’ll also spend time on the west bank of Luxor, exploring the Valley of the Kings and Hatsheput Temple, where rock-cut tombs and monumental architecture reveal different facets of ancient Egyptian life and death. Throughout the journey you’ll have the chance to learn about the sites’ history and admire their surviving sculptures, inscriptions and architecture, all set against the changing landscapes of the Nile.
