The temple honours Hatshepsut, one of the few female pharaohs to rule Egypt, and provides a rare example of a monument connected to a woman’s reign. Together, the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut’s Temple let you explore both the funerary art of the New Kingdom and the architectural ambition of its rulers.
