Nubian Heritage Day (Nubian Village & Nubian Museum)
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.

Overview
A representative will pick you up to start a tour to the Nubian Village, where the buildings feature a distinctive painted style. As you move through the village, you will meet locals and see how decorative motifs and colours shape everyday façades. The atmosphere will give you a direct sense of local life and artistic traditions. You will then visit the Nubian Museum, an archaeological museum designed by architect Mahmoud El-Hakim. The museum was built for an estimated construction cost of LE 75 million (approximately $22 million at the time) and was inaugurated on 23 November 1997. Dedicated to Nubian culture and civilisation, it was awarded the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2001. Inside, you will explore exhibits that reflect the region’s heritage and learn about the people, history and material culture that the museum preserves.
