Overview
In Cairo’s cultural quarter you’ll explore religious heritage, Islamic architecture and the modern home of some of Egypt’s greatest treasures — this is the cultural Cairo tour, not the Pyramids tour. You’ll walk through Old Cairo to the Hanging Church, which has stood since the third century, then climb to the Citadel of Saladin for sweeping views over Islamic Cairo. At the Grand Egyptian Museum you’ll see the gold mask of Tutankhamun among other New Kingdom treasures. The day will end with a gentle sail on a traditional felucca as it drifts along the Nile.
