Overview

You will travel from your Hurghada hotel to Luxor, with a guide sharing stories about Upper Egypt as the landscape changes along the way. In Luxor you will explore the East Bank’s Karnak Temple complex, seeing the towering Hypostyle Hall, the Sacred Lake and the Avenue of the Sphinxes. Lunch at the Steigenberger Nile Palace is included before you check in to your Luxor hotel. Later in the evening you will visit Luxor Temple—also called Ipet resyt, the Place of the Seclusion of Amun-Re—when it is beautifully illuminated. After an early breakfast you will head to the West Bank to walk through the Valley of the Kings and visit three royal tombs, learning about the burial practices of the pharaohs. You will also stop at the Colossi of Memnon, the two colossal statues of Amenhotep III. After lunch at your hotel you will check out and begin the journey back, taking with you memories of Egypt’s ancient sites and history.
