Built in 1902, the museum displays a vast collection—exceeding 120,000 masterpieces—from the ancient Egyptian and Greco-Roman periods. As you move through the galleries, you will see the remarkable collection of the child king Tut Ankh Amon alongside many other antiquities. You will then head to Islamic Cairo for a walking tour of the 1,000-year-old el Moez Street, often described as an open-air museum for its impressive Islamic buildings decorated with varied patterns and paints. The tour ends at Khan el Khalili Bazaar, one of Cairo’s main attractions. The district was originally a mausoleum called el Zaafran for the burial of Fatimid caliphs, and today you will find coffeehouses serving Arabic coffee and offering hookah (shisha), together with restaurants scattered throughout the area. After the visit, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
