A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.

Overview
Luxor, often called the world’s largest open-air museum, is home to temples, palaces, statues and tombs that are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. On this tour you’ll begin at the Habu Temple, the Temple of Ramses III, then move on to the Colossi of Memnon, the seated monuments of Amenhotep III. Along the way you’ll visit local alabaster workshops to see how artisans still shape stone by hand. After lunch the visit continues to the Valley of the Kings and then to Dendera Temple, about 50 km from Luxor. At Dendera you will explore the Temple of Hathor with its vibrant colours and decoration; many of the pillars and walls are more than 2,000 years old. The temple also contains an ancient calendar and horoscopes said to be among the oldest in the world, and the passage known as the Serdab where a lamp made in an old technique is engraved in the wall. Throughout the day you’ll see a wide range of monuments on the Nile’s west bank and learn about their history and craftsmanship.
