Private Full Trip to Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples From Luxor
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.

Overview
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor for a trip to Edfu and Kom Ombo. On arrival at Edfu you will be taken to the majestic temple dedicated to Horus, regarded as one of the best preserved cult temples in Egypt. According to Egyptian myths, it was the site where the falcon‑headed god Horus avenged the murder of his father Osiris by killing Seth. After exploring the temple, you will have lunch at a local restaurant. Later you will visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, which sits on high ground overlooking the Nile. The temple is unusual for its double entrance, with one side dedicated to Haroeris (the falcon‑headed form of Horus) and the other to Sobek (the crocodile‑headed god). Kom Ombo was built in honour of these two deities: Sobek, associated with fertility and the creation of the world, and Haroeris, the ancient falcon‑headed Horus. The area is also noted for its huge sugar‑cane. After your visit you will be transferred back to your hotel in Luxor.
