Overview
You will be collected from your hotel by an AC car and tour guide for a day in Alexandria. The visit includes a stop at the Alexandria National Museum, where you will get an overview of the city’s long history. Along the way you will see the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a contemporary reimagining of the ancient Great Library that once made the city famous. As you move along the Corniche you will reach Fort Qaitbey, built on the site of the old Pharos Lighthouse — once counted among the seven wonders of the ancient world. Inside the fort you can explore stone‑walled chambers and climb to the roof for views over the eastern harbour and the Mediterranean. The tour also includes a visit to the Catacombs of Kom el‑Shuqqafa, an important archaeological site that illustrates Alexandria’s layered past. For lunch, you can arrange it with your guide, who will be able to suggest local restaurants. The day will combine museums, ancient monuments and coastal scenery to give a rounded picture of Alexandria.
