Overview

You’ll be collected from your Cairo or Giza hotel by a private driver and an expert guide who will take you to the Giza Plateau. There you’ll stand before the great pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos, take photos and walk around the ancient structures. As you move through the site, you’ll visit the Valley Temple of King Chephren, noted as a place associated with mummification rituals, and get up close to the Great Sphinx, the iconic statue with a pharaoh’s head and a lion’s body. The tour continues at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). You’ll see conservation labs and the vast Great Hall, and view treasures such as items from King Tutankhamun’s tomb while restoration work is on display. Finally you’ll travel to Sakkara to explore the Step Pyramid of Djoser, known as the world’s first large stone building, along with a number of ancient tombs. Along the way your guide will provide historical context, giving you a clear sense of Egypt’s architectural and cultural legacy.
