Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle for an exciting day trip to Cairo. Along the way you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus pyramids. You’ll then visit the Great Sphinx — noted for its pharaoh’s head — and see lion carcasses that date back to the time of Chephren. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch you’ll continue to the Egyptian Museum, which displays artefacts from the Pharaonic period. The museum showcases a 5,000-year-old collection of rare art that is believed to be one of the largest and most valuable collections of Egyptian art. More than 250,000 authentic objects are on display, including an exhibition dedicated to the gold and jewels of Tutankhamun’s treasure, which was sealed in his tomb for more than 3,500 years before its excavation in the 1920s. The day will finish in Old Cairo at the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, where you can pick up souvenir bargains and learn to haggle.
