Overview
At El-Fayoum Oasis you’ll explore a mix of lakes, desert and archaeological wonder. Your visit will include Qarun Lake and the Wadi El Rayan protected area, where you’ll see the upper and lower lakes and their waterfalls. Along the shoreline and across the dunes you’ll have time for sand boarding on the sand hills, adding a bit of adventure to the natural scenery. The tour continues with a 4x4 drive to Wadi El Hitan (the Valley of the Whales). The landscape there contains fossils of prehistoric, now-extinct whales, and the off-road driving up and down the sand hills will be part of the experience. On the way back you’ll stop at the Magic Lake, noted for its striking natural beauty. The day finishes in the Village of Tunis, where you’ll visit local pottery factories and learn how to make your own pottery jar. After the village, you will return to your hotel.
