Overview
You will be transferred from Sharm el Sheikh to visit St-Catherine monastery, set between St-Catherine's mounts and Moses Mount and noted as the oldest monastery of Christianity. The Orthodox Greek monastery sits within impressive, citadel-like walls and contains a range of important religious and historical structures. As you move through the site, you will encounter its famed library of ancient manuscripts and icons, said to be second only to the Vatican’s, and a 6th-century church reputed to stand on the site of the Burning Bush. After visiting the monastery, you will continue to Dahab, known as the Flower Power City on the Red Sea, for a relaxed city tour and time for shopping. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant before you are driven back to your hotel in Sharm el Sheikh.
