Overview

A tour manager from Memphis Tours will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and your guide will take you to the 5,000-year-old Great Pyramids at Giza. You will stand beside the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus and see how they dominate the plateau. Along the way you will also visit the Great Sphinx, a monumental figure with a pharaoh’s head and a lion’s body that dates from the time of Chephren. You will then explore the Valley Temple, which belongs to the pyramids of Chephren. The temple played a clear role in the royal funerary practices: it was used for the purification of the king’s mummy before burial and for parts of the mummification process. The experience focuses on seeing these iconic monuments up close and understanding their connections within the ancient royal complex.
