Overview

You will begin with a private morning pick-up from your hotel and travel to the Giza plateau. At Giza, your guide will set the scene for the ancient Egyptians who built the pyramids more than 4,500 years ago. As you move through the site, you will hear about the architecture and engineering behind these monumental structures. You will visit the panorama area for the best photo views of the pyramids, then go on to the Valley Temple where the guide will explain the mummification process. The tour continues to the Sphinx statue, where you will learn about the reasons behind its construction. Along the way you will also visit a government-run centre dedicated to original essential oils and papyrus papers, offering insight into traditional materials and crafts. A traditional lunch is included during the tour. After your visit, you will be driven back to your hotel, having seen Giza’s main landmarks and heard detailed historical and cultural commentary from your guide.
