Overview
A representative will pick you up from your hotel for a day exploring some of Egypt’s most famous sites. You will visit the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus, then see the Great Sphinx, which dates from the time of Chephren. Along the way you will also visit the Valley Temple associated with Chephren’s pyramid. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant before the afternoon portion of the trip. After lunch you will move on to the Egyptian Museum, which features artefacts from the Pharaonic period and a rare collection spanning 5,000 years of art. The museum is considered the largest, most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world and presents over 250,000 genuine artefacts, including an exhibit devoted to Tutankhamen’s treasure, gold and jewellery that was enclosed in his tomb for more than 3,500 years before it was found in the 1920s. The tour then continues to Coptic Cairo, where you will visit the Hanging Church, the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Church of St Barbara and the Church of Abu Serga. Later you will be transferred back to your hotel.
