You will explore the funerary temples and tombs on the Nile’s West Bank, taking in ancient monuments that mark Egypt’s royal burial landscape. As you move through the area, you’ll visit the Valley of the Kings, where royal tombs lie cut into the limestone, and see the Colossi of Memnon—two monumental statues that once flanked a great mortuary temple. Along the way you’ll also visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, dedicated to the most famous queen of Egypt, and learn about the architecture and history that made her reign distinctive.
