Overview
Your guide will give you their full attention from the moment the tour begins. You will start at the Citadel of Salah El Din, constructed on the Moqattam hills in 1183 AD to defend Cairo from the armies of Crusaders. After that you will visit the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, designed by the Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq who came from Istanbul to build the mosque for Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt from 1805 to 1849. You will then move on to see the Sultan Hassan and El-Refaie Mosques, proceed to the Ibn Tulun Mosque, and conclude at Al-Azhar, the famous mosque that is also known as the first Islamic university.
