Overview
Your Visitors Egypt guide will be waiting for you, holding a Visitors Egypt sign, so you won’t need to look for them. From the moment the tour begins they will give you their full attention. You will start at the Citadel of Salah El Din, built on the Moqattam hills in 1183 AD by Salah El Din to defend Cairo from Crusader armies. Next you will visit the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, designed by the architect Yousif Boushnaq, a Turkish architect brought from Istanbul to build the mosque for Mohamed Ali, who ruled Egypt from 1805 to 1849 and reigned for over 45 years. You will also see the Sultan Hassan and El-Refaie mosques, then proceed to the Ibn Tulun Mosque, and finish at Al-Azhar, the famous mosque that became the first Islamic university.
