Visiting the Pyramids of Giza: Tickets, Tips & What to See

Opening hours & best time to go

The plateau generally opens around 8am. Go at opening or in the late afternoon for softer light and thinner crowds. Summer middays are brutal — there's almost no shade.

2. Interior of the Great Pyramid (Khufu) — a separate, limited ticket; tight, hot and humbling.

Dealing with touts

This is the one downside of Giza: persistent camel, horse and "guide" offers. Be polite but firm, agree any price in writing before mounting an animal, and keep your own plan. The easiest fix is a guided Giza tour — a good guide shields you from the hassle entirely.
